The Humane Interface
This is a bit of a read, but well worth the slog. If you are reading this, you are using Jef Raskin's inventions (he is the originator of the GUI interface).

Thinkmap Visual Thesaurus
Someone drew my attention to this - it seems worth sharing, regardless of your interests. It is a dictionary /thesaurus that comes with 'mindmaps' that you can explore. It only gives you three tries a visit until you buy their software, but even those three tries are Quite cool at times. Check it out!

Albino 2 magic
Just for completeness, seeing as I mention this bit of virtual kit in my bio blurb, herewith a review of the most excellent Albino2.
Antares Filter magic
I cannot praise this plug-in enough - it is absolutely amazing. Like a full-blown virtual analog synth with an outstandingly flexible modulation matrix - and no waveforms up front; just pipe in your mix....Antares Filter - The Professional's Choice
They give you a fully functional demo that runs for a limited period of time. It works as a marketing strategy - I certainly would not do without it when the trial period ran out; I just had to buy it.

Gettin' it togethah
I thought I'd better publish some goals, to make more clear what this blog might be about as time goes by. Major items in my to-do list for 2005 are:
* Release the new [4th] TRIP album.
* Shift the emphasis in a course I teach at the Music and Audio Institute of New Zealand (MAINZ) from GarageBand to Live4.
* Get some Web skills, rent some server space and build my own web site. (If for no other reason, to make it easier to link to clips of audio /music - I produce a constant stream of new music and would like to be able to easily refer to stuff that I'm working on by example).
That'll do for now - better not get too detailed, but let other potential projects come to light by and by.

Here I go again. By now I have managed to get some pictures up, using my old Windows PC. Today I've got on to Flickr using my iBook - now I just have to work out how that will help me blog pix from my Mac...
perhaps a little bit of code will do the trick?

First post
This is the beginning. I am new to this, hoping that the experience of starting off my own blog will deliver some learnings and insights.
So far I'm only just knocking around the sign-up pages.
When I get the hang of it all I'll begin posting some less self-centered material.
